The CPO also directed the police officers not to tolerate violent protests at any cost. “Preventing violent activities under the guise of protests is our top priority,” the CPO said. He added that the Rawalpindi Police is fully prepared to deal with any situation and will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of the city.
In such a situation, orders have been issued to immediately evacuate non-essential people from hotels and hostels on and around Murree Road. The CPO ensured that “foreigners, patients, families, and students appearing for exams will be exempted.”
Arrest of TLP workers: Counter-terrorism operation
In Rawalpindi, the police arrested two TLP workers who were in possession of dangerous items. The activists were preparing for violent protests and demonstrations by a religious political party. They were arrested by the Chaklala police and presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court, where the court remanded them to the police on a 10-day remand for further investigation. According to the police spokesperson, both suspects were actively preparing for anti-Israel protests and were carrying dangerous items.
